The assault caused the partial shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking area.

An additional two individuals are now in custody in connection with a theft at Heathrow Airport in which 21 people were injured by what is thought to be pepper spray, according to police.

A 24-year-old man, was taken into custody in the Lambeth area on suspicion of robbery and assault and a 23-year-old woman was detained for suspected conspiring to commit a robbery. Both individuals are still being held, the force said.

These detentions follow a probe into an attack at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 on Sunday. Before the incident, a pair of female travelers were robbed of their suitcases after getting out of a car park lift.

A three-year-old girl was one of the injured in the event. A total of five individuals were taken to the hospital for medical care and have since been released.

Police arrested a man in his thirties for suspected theft and assault near the location. He has since been released under investigation while inquiries continue.

Police were alerted at about 08:10 GMT following reports of a number of individuals hurt by a noxious substance thought to be pepper spray.

The assault - an event that authorities stated was isolated and not being treated as an act of terror - caused delays to rail services and the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 parking facility for a short time.
